Malcolm first moved to Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland from Coventry in 1990 with his work and met his wife in 1995. Fortunately for the Pipe Band, Helen was a Tenor Drummer in the Buchan Pipe Band and Malc quickly became “hooked by the Pipe Band Bug” in attending competitions and travelling with the Band. This willingness to assist led to his joining the organizing committee for the North of Scotland Champion of Champions competition (which is promoted by the Buchan Pipe Band) in 1997 and he and Helen have assisted in running the event ever since. Malc has been the Secretary of that Committee since 2002 and has taken on the role of Secretary of the Band Committee during 2006.
